Sophie has potential as a character, but I just couldn't connect with her. It's kind of disappointing to see a very interesting premise being overshadowed by bland, shallow characters, insta-love, cliches, absurd situations and plot holes. Where Pacific Prep delivers (great story, plot twists, loveable characters, secrets and intrigues, you can't put it down), Three Divisions lacks. I have to say, what a huge difference in quality, style and editing - basically everything. I finished reading Smyth's other series, Pacific Prep, just yesterday and immediately started with her debut novel, the first book of the Crescentwood trilogy.
